2020: Attraction of $20 million investments for start of the drones picking fruit
At the end of October, 2020 the Israeli producer of agricultural Tevel Aerobotics Technologies UAVs completed a financing round in $20 million thanks to what the company implements the commercial project on start of the drones picking fruit. The company is estimated by investors at $45 million.
Tevel Aerobotics Technologies develops the independent drones equipped with meter mechanical claws which can pick fruit or be used for thinning and cutting of trees in gardens. Tevel Aerobotics drones are equipped with opportunities of AI which allow them to define types of fruit and degree of their ripeness.
All drones integrate in a system with one autonomous "brain" placed on the land mobile device. The system of drones is also capable to collect and transfer data to the user which then are analyzed using big data and AI.
The new capital will be directed to production of new drones, generally for clients from North America and Europe. Besides the company executes orders from China, Japan, South Korea and Brazil.
"The purpose of this round - to complete the main development stages of new drones, to begin their production and to execute the existing orders. Demand grows because of labor shortage which is aggravated every year", - the chairman of the company Eyal Desheh explained.
The area of agricultural grounds for cultivation of fruit, as expected, will double and dostint 140 million hectares by 2050. However for the same period the number of agricultural workers will be laid off by 5 million, i.e. half. The Tevel Aerobotics Technologies company considers that it thanks to these changes will be able to sell drones to producers in the USA and Europe for $3 billion, and $30 billion more will be able to receive from the agricultural producers which are growing up fruit in other parts of the world.[1]
