2018: Implantation of chips to employees
In August, 2018 it became known that the Three Square Market company implanted to the dozens of employees microchips which are used for pass to office through a tourniquet, authorization in the computer and purchases of food in the dining room.
It is about RFID chips which belong to discharge passive — they are deprived of rechargeable batteries and receive energy from RFID scanners during transmission of data from the chip.
By August, 2018 hypodermic chips are implemented to 80 workers in the headquarters of Three Square Market in River-Folse, the State of Wisconsin (USA). In total in the company about 250 people work.
The CEO of Three Square Market Patrick McMullan says that for a year of an experiment with chipping of personnel only two employees refused electronics under skin and that after leaving the company.
You get used to use of chips. It is easy — he noted. |
According to Makmullan, the idea to implant chips came to the companies to him after the business trip to Sweden where he for the first time saw how hypodermic chips are used to access to buildings and purchases.
Makmullan emphasized that the company has no information access about location of employees, and the data which are stored in chips are ciphered.
The Three Square Market software engineer Sam Bengtson told that he uses the implanted chip till 10-15 once a day — generally for an input in the computer login account without password entry.
The vice president for finance of Three Square Market Steve Kassekert got used to use the hand with the implanted chip for purchase of sparkling water in the vending machine. He was recognized that he strongly was upset when the RFID scanner ceased to work for some time.
Bengson considers that the technology can become outdated and it needs some means for updating.[1]
