2025: Moscow "Smartbusinessgroup" bought out Tikkurila assets in Russia
On February 5, 2025, it became known that the Russian structure of the paint manufacturer Tikkurila changed its owner. It was the Moscow JSC Smartbusinessgroup, registered in September 2024.
According to RBC, earlier 100% of the shares of the Russian Tikkurila LLC belonged to the Finnish Tikkurila Oyj. At the same time, Tikkurila managed the entire business of Tikkurila Oyj in the Russian Federation, the main part of which is two large paint plants in St. Petersburg. Against the background of the formed geopolitical situation, Tikkurila, which in June 2021 was absorbed by the American company PPG, announced a reduction in operations in Russia and announced that it was considering the sale of business and controlled withdrawal from the market. In addition to St. Petersburg factories, Tikkurila LLC operates logistics centers in Novosibirsk, Mytishchi and Kopeisk.
As of the beginning of February 2025, nothing was reported about the value of the transaction with Smartbusinessgroup JSC. This organization is registered in Moscow at: vn. ter. city municipal district Presnensky, Presnenskaya embankment, 12, room 4/55. Anastasia Malashenkova is listed as the general director. The main activity of Smartbusiness Group is the production of concrete products for use in construction. Among other areas of work, the production of gypsum products for use in construction, the activities of agents for the wholesale trade in timber and construction materials, as well as the wholesale trade in other construction materials and products are announced.
In addition, it is noted that on February 5, 2025, the general director was changed at Tikkurila LLC. It was Alexander Sudnev. He also heads Eastkult Mozhaisk JSC, a manufacturer of autoclave concrete previously owned by the German Xella Group.[1]
2024: Brand name change in Russia to Tikkivala
In September 2024, Tikkurila in Russia changed the name of the Tikkivala brand. Under this brand, the Tikkurila assortment, produced at two factories in St. Petersburg, will remain. The names of popular paints, as well as their composition and cost, promise not to change.
