History

2018: The Finnish concern Wartsila becomes the owner of the company

The Finnish corporation Wartsila announced on March 19, 2018 acquisition of the Tranzas group developing the hi-tech equipment and the software for the sea industry entering into Industrial Investors holding. Close the transaction which cost is estimated at €210 million, is planned in the second quarter 2018.

Wartsila expects to accelerate development of the Smart Marine Ecosystem system with acquisition Tranzas

Tranzas specializes in creation of the integrated technological solutions for security and efficiency of navigation, navigation and ship transactions. As envisioned by Wartsila, acquisition of the company will accelerate development of the Smart Marine Ecosystem system in development of interaction of "smart" courts with "smart" ports. This system is designed to increase efficiency of the navigable industry, including to help to solve problems with redundancy of the tonnage in the market, insufficient fuel efficiency and costs of time for waiting in queue on an input to ports and other zones with a busy schedule of ship traffic. In particular, the president of Wartsila Marine Solutions Roger Holm considers that the transaction will integrate "the biggest product portfolio in the sea industry" of Wartsila with a management system for the movement, the navigation and navigable solutions "Tranzas".

According to Wartsila, the annual net volume of sales of Tranzas is €140 million. The company locates 22 regional offices worldwide and the distribution network covering 120 countries. At the time of acquisition the company covers more than 35% of a share of the world market of electronic and cartographic and navigation systems (EKNIS) and over 45% of the world market of sea exercise machines.

According to official data for the end of 2016, the Industrial Investors holding possesses about two thirds in Tranzas.^[1]

2017: Partnership Tranzas and Japan Radio Company

On February 27, 2017 Tranzas and Japan Radio Company (JRC) companies announced the beginning of operation of the agreement on strategic partnership in the field of researches, technology developments, distribution and joint project implementation in the field of navigation^[2].

As a result of complex partnership clients of the companies will be offered:

• navigation solutions for different ships classes,
• electronic databases and cards,
• training solutions,
• technologies for the operational centers of shipping companies and vessel traffic control centers,
• global service support.

The technical cooperation focused on development of the innovative application solutions of E-navigation will provide creation of products on an integration framework of the equipment and the software.

The first joint projects will be is among by development and design of a product line of the electronic and cartographic systems (ECS), radars, automation systems of management and monitoring of ship traffic.
