2025: Turkish state-owned banks by default begin issuing Troy cards instead of Visa and Mastercard and transfer social payments to them
In January 2025, it was announced that Turkish state-owned banks by default will issue cards of the Troy internal payment system, and not Visa and Mastercard. This applies both to the issuance of new cards and the replacement of old ones.
Also, all social benefits will be made through Troy.

Turkey proposes to use Troy to calculate Russian citizens
Turkey offers Russia instead of the Mir payment system to use its Troy payment system, Aydınlık sources said in early October 2022. Since Troy is completely under the control of the Turkish Central Bank, "the United States will not be easy to find a reason to intervene," according to Ankara.
12 million Troy cards in circulation
As of March 2022, more than 12 million Troy plastic cards were in circulation.
