History
1991
In 1991 the Kalinin state university was renamed into Tver.
1972
On February 18, 1972 in the Kalinin drama theater the grand opening of the Kalinin State University was held.
1970
On September 1, 1970 it was reorganized into the Kalinin State University.
1917
In 1917 it is renamed into the Tver teacher's institute, and later — into the Kalinin Teacher Training college.
1870
On December 1, 1870 in Tver the private pedagogical school of P.P. Maksimovich was open.
