2025: Launch of Aircraft Panel Automatic Riveting Machines
On October 14, 2025, the head Ministry of Industry and Trade RUSSIAN FEDERATION Anton Alikhanov announced the launch of Russian production of machines for automatic riveting of aircraft panels. The first installation for creating the fuselage of a domestic medium-range passenger aircraft MS-21 already transferred to. Nizhny Novgorod
Speaking at the government hour in the State Duma, Alikhanov noted that earlier similar technological installations were purchased abroad. He also said that between 2026 and 2027, it is planned to release and deliver four more such automated complexes.
| In relation to the technological track, we lay down end-to-end digitalization of the aircraft industry, from design to testing, reducing labor costs and working with personnel, "the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized. |
According to him, as part of the implementation of this program, it is planned to "increase the productivity of 16 key enterprises in the industry by more than 30%."
Alikhanov did not specify the name of the manufacturer of aircraft fuselage machines. It is assumed that we are talking about the company "UrIC." Its website says that UrIT specialists have developed "a unique import-substituting solution in Russia for the supply or modernization of riveting machines with a modern element base."
In 2023, the company received an order from the Kazan aircraft factory to modernize American riveting machines. During the work, design documentation was fully developed and full-size models of key units were created. URIC also developed its own equipment management software. Testing of the upgraded system was successfully completed and accepted by the customer.
The next stage is the installation and commissioning of the complex. The ultimate task is the complete localization in Russia of the production of modern riveting equipment.[1][2]
