2021: Establishing a Company

November 25, 2021 it became known about the creation of a national airline in Ukraine. It will be called "Ukrainian National Airlines."

We are taking a powerful step - this is our national air carrier. The creation of it, which will be started, can be said officially today... We are ready to invest in the air fleet, load Ukrainian manufacturers and attract world leaders to joint projects in the aircraft industry, "said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a forum on aviation and tourism in Kiev.

According to him, the economic feasibility of the project was confirmed by French consultants. Zelensky also said that the creation of such an enterprise is a "question of the status, image, prestige" of Ukraine, and said that the country is investing "billions of hryvnias" in the modernization of regional airports.

Ukraine creates a national air carrier - Ukrainian National Airlines

The Ukrainian leader noted that the new airline will be created in partnership with Airbus. Later, in the presence of the head of state, Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov and Vice President of Airbus in Europe and Central Asia Kimon Sotiropoulos signed a memorandum of understanding. It is noted that the document defines "an algorithm for further cooperation in the framework of creating a national air carrier, including, but not limited to, the acquisition of aircraft." The new air carrier will acquire or lease 22 Airbus aircraft.

After the creation of a national air carrier in Ukraine, Airbus is also ready to consider cooperation with the Ukrainian aerospace industry.

By the end of November 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is considering a bill amending the state budget for 2021 to allocate 2.5 billion hryvnias to finance infrastructure projects, in particular 500 million UAH - to form the authorized capital of the national air carrier.^[1]
