2021: Lawsuit from Aeroxo

As it became known on June 10, 2021, the rights to the design of the Russian drone were first challenged in court. Aeroxo filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles "Unmanned Systems" and demands to ban the use of its technology without paying for a license.

This proceedings were reported to Vedomosti with reference to the file cabinet of arbitration cases. The lawsuit was sent to the Arbitration Court of Udmurtia. The publication, referring to the materials of the statement of claim, writes that the plaintiff wants to achieve a ban on the production, advertising and sale of the unmanned convertible Supercam SX200H,  developed by Unmanned Systems.

Rights to the design of the Russian drone for the first time began to be challenged in court

A convertiplane like a helicopter is able to take off vertically, then engine nacelles with screws and engines turn 90 degrees, and the car flies horizontally like an aircraft: the wings provide lift. The proprietary Aeroxo device differs in that each propulsion group contains two engines, is placed with the possibility of rotation at the end of each of the four wings and is made in the form of a nacelle with pulling and pushing screws, the lawsuit says.[1]

Ilya Zharsky, managing partner of the Veta expert group, in a conversation with the newspaper, called the conclusion of an examination conducted by patent attorneys at the request of Aeroxo correct. However, according to the lawyer, the very description of the utility model of the patented vehicle raises questions, it contains very general characteristics, most of which - somehow: the presence of the fuselage, the ability to turn the engines at the end of each wing - describes the design of the convertiplane as a class of aircraft. " The presence of pairs of engines and four wings is not something exceptional, characteristic only of the model, the rights to which belong to the plaintiff, he added.

In his opinion, Aeroxo's chances of satisfying the requirements are quite high, since formally the signs of using the plaintiff's patent in the Supercam SX200H model are seen.
