2024: Registration of the holding

Vladimir Nikolsky, former chief operating officer of VK (formerly Mail.ru Group) and co-founder of My.Games, founded the new game holding Utmost Games, registered in Cyprus. This became known in October 2024 from the information posted on the official website of the company.

According to Kommersant, Utmost Games included two projects: the developer of Top App Games, created in August 2022 in Cyprus, and the publisher of video games Digital Vortex, registered in May 2024 also in Cyprus. The co-founders of Top App Games are Vladimir Nikolsky and Vladimir Markov, who previously supported the Hustle Castle project and headed Studio Nord as part of the Mail.ru Group.

Former VK COO creates gaming holding

Alexey Izotov, who previously headed the game publisher Astrum Entertainment, is listed as the CEO and co-founder of Digital Vortex. Digital Vortex offers three types of services: traditional edition, partial edition and "shadow" edition (white label).

In the past, the publisher's team has worked on projects such as Atomic Heart, Skyforge, Warface, Lost Ark, PUBG Battlegrounds and World of Warships. A Utmost Games spokesman confirmed the launch of the project, but declined to disclose the size of the investment.

According to Kommersant's source in the video game market, investments in the creation of an asset could amount to about $20-40 million. The interlocutors of the publication believe that Utmost Games was launched at the own expense of Vladimir Nikolsky, without attracting third-party investors.

Vladimir Nikolsky has a wealth of experience in the gaming industry. In 2007, he headed Astrum Online Entertainment, which in 2009 became part of the Mail.ru Group. In the holding, the businessman took the position of vice president of the gaming direction. In 2019, VK merged all its gaming assets under the My.Games brand, co-founded by Nikolsky.[1]
