VOSU (Vologda State University)
Vologda State University (VSU) is a university in the Vologda region. It was formed on October 24, 2013 by renaming the Vologda State Technical University (VSTU), to which the Vologda State Pedagogical University (VGPU) was annexed 2 months earlier.
History
2023: Launch of a project to prepare human resources for the optical and electronic industry
The Shvabe holding of Rostec State Corporation, in cooperation with the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Vologda Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Vologda State University (VSU), has launched a project to develop human resources for the optical and electronic industry. As part of the targeted educational program in Vologda, they will train highly qualified specialists who, after graduation, are guaranteed employment at the Schwab profile enterprise. Rostec announced this on August 30, 2023.
A four-party agreement on the training of specialists for the strategic direction of the military-industrial complex was initiated by the Vologda Optical and Mechanical Plant (VOMZ), which is part of Shvab, and supported by the Governor of the Vologda Region. The first stage of the pilot project will be training at the Vologda State University of a group of students in the profile "Optical devices and systems in mechanical engineering." Read more here.
