History

Vagonmash Ltd - one of the oldest car-building enterprises of Russia.

It was founded in 1874 as factory on production of joiner's and technical products which main products were boxes for transportation of mail in cars of the Russia's first Tsarkoselsky railroad.

In 1898. "The partnership of the St. Petersburg car-building plant" made the railway car, the first for the history.

In May, 1968 the first car of the subway of production then already of "The Leningrad car-building plant of I.E. Egorov" successfully passed tests, and in a year already more than hundred such cars transported passengers in the Leningrad subway.
