In May 2024, it became known about the bankruptcy of the "daughter" of Vestas in Russia. The company's equipment was put up for bankruptcy auction for 4.5 billion rubles.
2023: Payment of 396 million rubles of the Ulyanovsk region for a broken contract
By a court decision, the Danish company Vestas paid 396 million rubles to the budget of the Ulyanovsk region, which the region received less due to the termination of a special investment contract. After leaving Russia, the plant destroyed some of the equipment, and removed the blades. Now the domestic production of blades for wind power plants will be located on the former squares, the governor of the region Alexei Russkikh said at a meeting in the government on July 4, 2023.
The indicated amount was formed from the benefits enjoyed by the investor who did not fully implement his project. The production of wind blades in the Ulyanovsk region will resume thanks to cooperation with a Russian investor, before about 400 people worked here, the new owner in the person of Rosatom promises to maintain the number of personnel.
The money will be used to develop the economy of our region. Last year, due to sanctions, a foreign investor closed an enterprise in Ulyanovsk. The company enjoyed property and income tax benefits. The termination of the contract became the basis for collecting lost profits in the form of tax revenues. Vestas paid the funds to the region in full. On the former areas of the foreign plant there will be a domestic production of blades for wind power plants, - said Alexey Russkikh, instructing the financial unit to carry out work on reinvestment of funds. |
The opening of the production of composite wind blades is scheduled until December 2024. Starting capacity is designed for 450 products per year. In the Ulyanovsk region will produce blades for the whole country.
According to the file of arbitration cases, Moscow on June 16, the Arbitration Court ruled to recover 392.9 million rubles from Westas Manufacturing Rus LLC to the budget of the Ulyanovsk Region, and 69.3 million rubles to the federal budget. The defendant recognized the claims in full, according to the court decision, which refers to Interfax"."[1]
