History

JSC Volkovgeologiya in all directions of productive activity is a legal successor of the Volkovsky prospecting expedition created on January 1, 1948 according to the Order of the Minister of geology of the USSR No. 173 of October 29, 1947 with the duties of search assigned to it, investigations of uranium ores in the territory of Kazakhstan aimed at providing requirements of defense industry and nuclear power of the USSR. The first years of work of the Volkovsky expedition were marked by identification in 1951 of the Kurdaysky field of high-quality uranium ores which was reconnoitered and transferred to the shortest possible time for industrial mastering (1953). The largest opening came to collective in 1969-80gg. when in the Southern Kazakhstan the large uranium province in the Shue-Sarysuysky and Iliysky hollow was revealed, on reserves of uranium ores being the world's largest. Thanks to these opening the Republic of Kazakhstan on explored reserves of uranium, method of underground lixiviation, suitable for working off, became the world leader.

Achievements

In 65 years 40 fields of uranium are revealed and the uranium mining industry of Kazakhstan with total reserves of uranium more than 1.3 million tons which basis is formed by 19 unique fields of uranium of hydrogene type revealed in the Southern Kazakhstan is created.

• The winner in National Industry Tender of RK "GOLD GEFEST" in the Domestic Pride nomination - 2011.
• Victory of the director of the branch of JSC Volkovgeologiya "Prospecting expedition No. 7" in the tender "Gold Gefest" in the Geologist of Year nomination - 2012.
