The history of Wone Hotels begins in 2008.

Wone Hotels operates a chain of hotels formerly owned by the Finnish brand Sokos. As of August 2023, the chain includes three hotels:

• Hotel Palace Bridge 5 * Urban Resort format.
• Hotel Vasilievsky 4 * is an art hotel with the concept of "Culture of hospitality and the art of recreation."
• Hotel Olympia Garden 4 * in the green park of the historic center.

All three hotels with a total number of 927 units are located in St. Petersburg.^[1]

History

2022: Sale of Russian business by Sokos

As it became known on June 22, 2022, the Finnish hotel chain Sokos sold the Russian business to the owners of the Awara IT group (engaged in consulting in the field of information technology and digital projects for retail, the hotel industry, the industrial and financial sector) Alexander Ermakov and Yuri Shumakov. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The perimeter of the transaction included three hotels with a number of more than 900 units located on the 8th line of Vasilyevsky Island (owned by a hotel operator), in Bataysky and Birzhevoy lanes (leased). The Solo Vasilievsky hotel owned by the chain on the 8th line of Vasilyevsky Island was not included in the deal. Under what brand hotels will continue to work, by June 23, 2022 is not reported. On the Awara IT website, Sokos is listed as one of the partners of the IT supplier. Read more here.
