The infrastructure of the complex includes restaurants, shops, a water park, a cinema, a stadium and an airfield. Both budget buildings and VIP cottages with luxurious decoration are provided on the territory. Some buildings are equipped with swimming pools and decorative ponds.

The head of the DPRK stressed the importance of the Wonsan-Kalma project for the development of the country's economy and improving the standard of living of the North Koreans. The complex should become part of a large-scale tourism program, which also includes the development of resorts in the Kumgansan Mountains and the Samjiyong District.

A feature of the location of the new resort is the proximity to the missile range where ballistic weapons are tested. Nevertheless, the DPRK authorities are actively promoting the project in the international tourism market.

North Korea places particular emphasis on attracting Russian tourists. In 2024, a special video was released demonstrating the tourist capabilities of North Korean beaches. Experts also note the importance of the Chinese market for the development of the resort.

The opening of the Wonsan-Kalma complex is scheduled for June 2025. The project is part of the DPRK strategy to develop international tourism and attract foreign visitors.

Luxury elements were used in the design of the public spaces of the complex, including white royals in the halls of hotels. The architecture and layout of the resort city reflects the desire to create a modern tourist center of international level.[1]
