JSC Yamaltelekom

Main objective of the company - the development of communication and informatization of the autonomous area providing creation of unified regional telecommunication environment, including television and broadcasting for the benefit of public authorities, the enterprises, social structures and the population of the district in general.

History

• 1999, on August 20 - JSC Yamaltelekom received the certificate on state registration;
• 2001 – the beginning of the first stage of construction of terrestrial stations of satellite communication in 12 localities of Yamal. The first client is connected to the Internet on a dedicated line;
• In 2000 - 2001 - creation of the integrated telecommunication network;
• 2002 - agreements with Administration of the district on "Creation of network of district satellite television and broadcasting" and constructions of a television tower in the city of Salekhard are signed;
• 2003 – are put into operation of 12 ground stations of satellite communication located in the cities and the district centers of the region; the construction of 38 terrestrial stations of satellite communication of the integrated telecommunication network of YaNAO is completed. Objects are equipped with the necessary equipment for providing all range of services: telephony, services of telematic services (Internet), data services, video conference of communication, services in lease of channels.
• 2004 – telebroadcasting transmitters and stations of satellite communication are put into operation that allowed to increase considerably capacity of channels, relaying of programs of district broadcasting of radio and television is provided; dynamic development of modern telecommunication infrastructure on Yamal;
• 2005 – new communication channels for cellular operators are organized. Services in transfer of voice messages to data networks are implemented; the 80th meter television tower in the city of Salekhard is put into operation; The telebroadcasting network consists of 87 TV and broadcasting transmitters located in 44 localities of the district. Traffic of telephony increased by 6 times, traffic the Internet by 50%.
• 2006 – in the territory of the district is brought into operation wireless access to the Internet on the basis of WiFi technologies;
• 2007 - the radio relay Exlipse 8E1+ line by capacity 200 mbt is put into operation. Development of a broadband network of Wi-fi in the cities and hardly accessible settlements of the autonomous area is continued;
• 2008 - started construction of Wi-MAX network, and development of communication services in the settlement of Kharp. The prospects of development of this direction as guarantee of dynamic business development are confirmed a number of scientific works of leading specialists in area of communication; It is put in operation of 11 receiving DVB - the stations the Internet on localities of the district. 92% of own funds were allocated for accomplishment of the investment plan in 2007.
• 2009 - 2010 – JSC Yamaltelekom began to connect corporate clients to Wi-Max network. Construction of full-scale network Wi-Max in Salekhard, Labytnagi, Kharp is finished and construction of full-scale network Wi-Max in the territory of such cities as, Nadym, Novy Urengoy, Noyabrsk, Muravlenko, the settlements of Urengoy, Tazovsky, Kharp is begun. The Wi-Max Yamaltelekom network is founded on the equipment of the American company. All base stations Yamalteleky Wi-Max are connected to fiber-optic network.
