2011: New versions of McAfee Mobile Security and McAfee WaveSecure Tablet Edition

The McAfee company announced in July, 2011 expansion of own product line, the portable devices intended for protection against Internet threats. The new versions of the products McAfee Mobile Security and McAfee WaveSecure Tablet Edition allowing to solve the majority of problems which owners of modern smartphones and tablet computers based on the popular mobmlny platform face were announced.

The McAfee Mobile Security software product offers means of backup and data recovery and also provides protection against viruses, hearts, trojans, spywares and other 24/7 malware. The application will trace that the user did not visit obviously dangerous sites and also it was not the victim of swindlers or thieves of personal data. Corporate IT administrators will also appreciate the web portal for centralized operation by numerous devices.

WaveSecure Tablet Edition will help owners of Android devices, supporting WiFi technology, to quickly detect the gone device. The program activates an alarm and allows to keep track of the current location of the smartphone or tablet on the card. If the attempt of detection of the device terminated in failure, the owner can at least try to avoid leak of crucial data. For this purpose the structure of WaveSecure includes means of remote blocking of the device and removal of confidential information.

Free McAfee Mobile Security for iOS

On February 24, 2014 McAfee announced release of the free version of software of McAfee Mobile Security for iOS. In it iPhone iPad new features of data protection and security are also provided to users.

In particular, the company announced availability of functionality as that: security of information, protection using the camera, detection of cases of change of a firmware, backup and so forth.

The version is localized in 30 languages.

Free McAfee Mobile Security for Android

On February 24, 2014 the McAfee company announced release of the free version of software for Android.

According to statements of developers, McAfee Mobile Security for devices on the Android platform it is created to prevent thefts of personal data and devices. The program supports functions of protection against theft, from viruses, protection of applications, filtering of calls and short messages.

The new feature of Wi-fi Security will connect users in a protect mode to any Wi-fi networks and will inform if the network is potentially dangerous or unprotected by the password.

In case of suspicions of theft, for example, when several unsuccessful attempts of unblocking of the device are made, the CaptureCam function by means of which a picture of the person entering the password is taken is available. The image and data on location of the device go to its owner.

McAfee Mobile Security maintains security at the kernel level by means of Intel Device Protection Technology now. This development, when using together with McAfee Mobile Security, blocks and protects devices from the malware, saving the high speed of operation of the device and supporting a regime of economy in operation of the accumulator.

The new version is available in 30 languages.

New version of McAfee Mobile Security

On June 16, 2014 the McAfee company announced release of the new version of the free application of McAfee Mobile Security which allows to start instantly check of security of the device and personal data.

Development of McAfee will give the chance to users easier to execute verification of the application right after its installation. McAfee Mobile Security deletes software representing big risk for the device.

McAfee Mobile Security gives the chance to obtain key information on the nature of applications which users installed on the smartphone or the tablet. Scanning determines the volume of that information, access to which each application can get and extend, and also estimates collected data on the privacy sensitivity level, checking at the same time URL communications with the increased risk. When the application works not as other programs of a certain category, the risk level increases that is reflected in overall assessment. Based on scanning the user can make the decision on removal of suspicious applications a one click on the button.

In the new version the method of instant scanning of Android applications, files, memory cards and loadings from the Internet regarding availability of the malware in them is implemented. The ad hoc method optimized for mobile devices, providing economy of computing resources and a charge of the accumulator is for this purpose used.
