2023: Austrian dancer Prisca Zeisel becomes prima ballerina of the theatre

Austrian dancer Prisca Zeisel in October 2023 joined the troupe of the Mikhailovsky Theater in the status of a prima ballerina. As previously reported, the prima of the Bavarian State Ballet left the Munich troupe this fall after performing in Sevastopol.

After that, on August 4, 2023, an accusatory article appeared in the newspaper, to which, in turn, the leadership of the ballet troupe and the theater as a whole drew attention.

On September 14, 2023, the German theater published a message from which it follows that the ballerina left the team in Bavaria of her own free will.

The message, in particular, says:

'Ballerina Prisca Zeisel in early September decided to leave the Bavarian State Ballet of her own free will. This was preceded by a performance at a dance gala concert in Sevastopol (Crimea) during a summer vacation.

The Bavarian State Ballet learned about this invitation only shortly before the theatrical vacation. Then the theater management informed the dancer that this performance could only take place without the consent of the Bavarian State Opera. Nevertheless, Ms. Zeisel decided to speak in Sevastopol.

After numerous negotiations with the directorate of the Bavarian State Ballet and the Bavarian State Opera, Prisca Zeisel offered to terminate her contract at the beginning of the season. The theater management responded with consent '.

In mid-November, Zeisel will take part in the Gala Concert of Opera and Ballet Stars, and at the end of the month he will debut in the ballet "Bright Stream" to the music of Shostakovich. The production premiered in new choreography earlier in October.
