Issue and support of certificates of the EDS keys is the conducting activity of National certification center today.

Any physical person or legal entity can receive in the EDS certification center (the certificate of a key of the electronic digital signature) for participation in electronic biddings, the organization of electronic document management, submission of reports on the Internet.

As the electronic digital signature is confirmation of legitimacy of information and authorship of the document, special attention is paid to its protection. In National certification center certificates of the EDS are issued to clients on key carriers - Rutoken. This Russian means of authentication and data protection intended for safe storage and use of encryption keys and the electronic digital signature, passwords and digital certificates. For use of the EDS it is necessary to connect a token to USB port of the computer and to gather a unique PIN code.
