The world's largest implementation of a HRM system on the SAP platform is complete

The national postal service of the USA completely passed to commercial operation of a HRM system on the SAP platform. System implementation proceeded more than three years, including step-by-step input of the solution in operation over a year lasted.
The U.S. Postal Service (United States Postal Service, USPS), one of the largest state organizations in the world which is the main employer approximately for a third of federal civil servants in the USA completed commissioning of the new automated control system for personnel on the basis of the SAP solution ERP Human Capital Management (HCM SAP ERP).
By words Peta Beykli (Pat Bakey), the president of division of SAP Public Services, the project is the SAP implementation of ERP HCM largest for today in the world.
The new platform replaced the complete solution which supported work more than 3,800 employees of HR department earlier, exercised control of more than 200 processes using about 70 systems, and provided accomplishment of all necessary transactions for accounting more than 700,000 employees.
The project was begun in August, 2004. In addition to implementation of the modules mySAP Business Suite, the national postal service was also going to use the integration SAP NetWeaver platform for building of the business processes and implementation of the strategic plans and also for ordering of difficult IT infrastructure and integration of 28 different applications. SAP NetWeaver had to provide a possibility of consolidation and the complex analysis of personnel information in scales of all organization.
Start of a system in operation was performed, on the data which are available for TAdviser, consistently, since the third quarter 2006. So far to a new system all staff of postal service working in more than 32,000 departments at all territory of the USA has access.
A system gives to employees of USPS the developed opportunities for information self-service, control of personal information and management of own development. According to the customer, at the same time the cost of administrative and operating costs falls, paper document flow is reduced. Labor productivity of employees increases due to their bigger knowledge and a possibility of acceptance of the operational, weighed and reasoned decisions. Reduction of time for the solution of different personnel problems releases resources for accomplishment of office and professional tasks.
Within creation of a new HR system the uniform service center in Northern Carolina in which specialists of HR department render a necessary assistance to mail employees in the solution of the arising difficult or non-standard tasks was organized.
Such organization of work, consider in the company, allows to save resources of the state organizations, automating accomplishment of routine operating rooms and administrative processes, and gives them the chance to be focused on the solution of those tasks which are crucial and can make an additional profit.
