Report on a conference

During the action examples of practical experience of implementations of ERP systems from big customers were provided to participants, solutions and vision of market trends of players of the market and also expert opinions on different aspects of use of ERP.

About 100 people participated in the TAdviser ERP Day conference

The action began with the introductory report of the moderator of TAdviser ERP Day Alexander Gerasimov in which he told about transformation of ERP from an information system to the managing director. As one of the key moments of the report it designated that the ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning is enterprise resource planning) first of all is connected with a concept of planning. The main objective of planning – the most effective use of resources of the enterprise, however for its achievement there are fundamental restrictions: in particular, this quality of information on the external environment (volume, dynamics and demand pattern), about a current status of resources of the enterprise and about the actual processes of use by the enterprise of resources.

Among the steps necessary for overcoming these restrictions, Gerasimov gave implementation in the system of the principle of direct single automatic injection and reuse of information, implementation of the principle of self-service and also automatic exercise production and business processes without direct participation of personnel.

Experience of customers, opinions of experts

The CIO of the Cherkizovo group Vladislav Belyaev in the joint report with Anton Choubin, the director of practice of CPM in AT Consulting, shared experience of implementation in the company of the solution Oracle Hyperion for support of processes of budgeting and consolidation of the reporting. Before implementation for automation of these processes the platform of 1C with the local accounting systems and bases in the different legal persons entering into group and also Excel was used. A system was insufficiently managed, insufficiently stable and flexible, and ceased to arrange business how with its help processes were supported, was mentioned during the report.

The project started in 2012. Transfer to the new system of processes of budgeting and consolidations in a poultry farming segment became its first stage. Afterwards in Cherkizovo the centralized system of budgeting and the management reporting for the head company and the companies entering into group was created.

Konstantin Melnikov, the director of the department of enterprise management systems VimpelCom, told about transition of his company to Oracle e-Business Suite R12. The project started in 2003. At this stage the main focus was made on processes of accounting and budgeting. In 2004 the solution was started at the level of the company headquarters, and in 2005-2006 the company was engaged in business process optimization and unrolled a system already through the whole country, in 2007-2008 its functionality was expanded. Afterwards by Oracle e-Business Suite it was implemented also in the Golden Telecom company which joined VimpelCom.

Within 10 years of development the company received the uniform centralized ERP solution which thousands of employees use. In a system budgeting, the centralized project model of purchases, logistics, finance, HR, payroll calculation, the platform of electronic biddings, the system of SOX control, control procedure of capital and operating costs, etc. are implemented. In 2013 the company came to understanding that it is necessary to rebuild a system in connection with growth of business and to pass to a new technology platform. It was connected also with the fact that Oracle at that time stopped support of that version of a system which was used in the company.

In a project deliverable there was a possibility of the independent, parallel and accelerated closing of the period, reduction of distinctions between managerial and IFRS accounting, the flexibility of a system for changes of a management structure of the company, reduction of number of customizations almost twice and stable IT the ERP systems platform on support of vendor was increased.

Hermann Epstein, CIO of Baltika brewery, on an action told about a role of IT strategy in success and business development, about what ERP system implementation is based on. He noted that cases when the IT service begins to disperse in the interests from work of the enterprise are frequent. IT strategy allows to work to IT and business as the uniform mechanism. It defines the scheme to which the company, taking into account cost analysis on IT and taking into account new calls which business faces moves. One of like those in a case, for example, with business of telecom operators, Epstein calls Internet of Things.

He also emphasized that IT strategy should meet several requirements, of which market demands and the business strategy of the company are first-priority. At the same time IT strategy should provide a possibility of fast changings according to the changing conditions and business needs. These factors define requirements and to the ERP system of the enterprise.

"The information system of the company should be reliable, scalable, managed, effective, simple and compatible. These are basic requirements, but, unfortunately, not so many information systems conform to all these requirements", - Hermann Epstein noted.

The chief executive of Bauer Media Muza Monams on an action shared vision on the basis of expectations of home company as user of the ERP system that should become drivers for the market of ERP systems in Russia for 2015. In Bauer Media, in particular, the ERP system of SAP in which basic processes, a business intelligence based on SAP Business Intelligence and a BPMS system are conducted is used. Also in the company there are local systems based on 1C and SharePoint.

Believe in Bauer Media that expansion of integration opportunities of ERP systems which are insufficient now should become one of drivers. Often the main accounting is made in SAP ERP, and personnel records and salary – in 1C. It is a standard situation for a considerable part of clients of SAP, at the same time there is no standard solution on integration of these systems, was mentioned in the report.

"When we look at the systems based on SAP, we see what is not enough: there is not enough modularity. We implemented a system, and further – if something is missing, then it is heavy to make it, and any things and cannot be implemented in principle. Practically it is impossible make something quickly and just, - note in the company. – With integration approximately the same. From our communication with users in SAP community it is possible to draw a conclusion that integration often becomes "on a knee".

Among other drivers of the market of ERP in Bauer Media call localization of systems and their adaptation under requirements of the legislation: support of the regulated documents and rapid response to changes.

During the report of Bauer Media the thesis that ERP for business is an accounting system was stated. Concerning this point between participants at the event there was a discussion. In particular, from the hall the opinion was expressed that the main thing in the ERP system is a planning: "No accounting can be, meanwhile it is not planned", one of participants at the event noted.

Also there was a discussion about what it is possible to call business process. From the hall the opinion was expressed that the incorrect value often invests in this borrowed American term in local interpretation: "In American "process" is a debugged technology, and in Russian is any movement. If to speak Russian, there are managerial tasks for which there is already a formalized solution, and business process it is possible to call those tasks which it is clear how to execute".

Alexey Protsenko, the head of department of automation Russian Coal, shared with participants of TAdviser ERP Day experience of use of 1C for automation of business of the mining enterprise on the example of the company. In the performance he told about the purposes and the basic principles of automation of this type of the enterprise, about model of its business processes, the methodological principles of automation of mining, etc.

Experience of implementation of ERP in the retail company in the report was lit by the Chief information officer of Novard group (Ekonika was called earlier) Anton Levikov. He told that before his company selected the MS Dynamics Axapta system which functionality in 2009-2011 gradually expanded and also integrated it with systems existing in Novard based on 1C. At the same time he noted that his company sooner or later, at achievement of certain scales of business, will select the ERP system again. The subjective choice he called SAP.

Also Levikov touched upon an import substitution subject, having noted that it is not too relevant for his company now: "I agree with opinion that if a product good, then it is unimportant, Russian it or foreign if it good, it has to be taken and implemented".

Stanislav Melinger, the director of the department of support of business of KORTROS Group, devoted the report to a role of IT (automation) in development and also told about process of implementation of ERP in the company which is not completed yet. It provided data on an initial status of automation of accounting of primary activity of "KOPTPOC" which was implemented mainly based on 1C and also about the target functional diagram of IT solutions. The last turns on the analytical reporting, investment models, forecasting, CRM for sales management, a transaction system (ERP) and a management system for construction projects (BIM+PM).

Egor Lanko, the director of the department of remote trade and digital-marketing in Alphabet of Taste, shared with participants experience implementation of the WMS system based on the Dynamics NAV MS platform which allowed to cut down expenses of its business direction. He noted that this effect was gained, including, due to reduction of number of mistakes which were made at accomplishment manually earlier of those processes which were automated by a system.

The director of information technology of "the Consolidated Petrochemical Company" Dmitry Shevchenko devoted the report to how ERP systems can act as the instrument of increase in efficiency of production company. In particular, in his company, implementation of a single system based on SAP designed to increase efficiency of the company at the expense of the solution of a number of tasks is conducted. Among them - creation of the centralized financial control over cash flows at the level of management company, increase in transparency of transactions within the enterprises of holding, unification of business processes within a common information space, flexible and timely response to change of external factors, etc.

The project is kept within the IT strategy of the "Consolidated Petrochemical Company" approved in 2013. Shevchenko emphasized that at the time of project initiation of implementation of ERP he was positioned as the second project in the company after construction of new production assets.

Players of the market: solutions and trends

The Head of Department of consulting and implementation of Monolit-Info company Yury Gerlikh in the report told about developed by his ERP "Monolith" company. In particular, he lit development of functionality of a system, including the planned functionality, new opportunities and modules of the platform ERP Monolit 6.1, gave examples of solutions based on ERP "Monolit" for the different functional directions. One of the last such solutions Yury Gerlikh called the system of operational planning of transport which is already used in Baltika.

Also Yury Gerlikh gave examples of use Monolith in the companies. The largest project on its implementation for his company is the project in Baltika with which Monolit-Info works about 20 years. The created solution covers practically all business processes of the company. As of the beginning of 2015 5000 mobile employees work with a system, and the active customer base contains 250,000 outlets.

Andrey Kozyakov, the director of business development of digital solutions, NBZ Computers, during the performance told about the platform for creation and delivery of the content mobile applications of Adobe of DPS as about the instrument of expansion of opportunities of management systems. It covered possibilities of the content mobile applications for promotion of a brand, increase in a customer loyalty to the company in the report, supports of sales, training of employees and the solution of other business challenges.

Also Kozyakov told how using Adobe of DPS to create applications for the IOS platforms, Android and Windows 8.1 and interactive content how to reduce a cycle and costs for mobile application development and that application integration with CMS, CRM and ERP systems gives.

The representative of NBZ Computers gave several examples for what some large companies use Adobe of DPS. So, for example, the ExxonMobil company involves perspective employees using the modern interactive applications developed on Adobe of DPS. The Amway company created on Adobe of DPS the centralized application for the company providing access to digital directories and instruments of sales, promo to materials and also created the digital directory for clients of the company localized for several regions. In turn, Renault issues a number of the digital publications promoting increase business of indicators in the B2C and B2B directions on this platform.

Perspective

Negative economic trends in 2014 amplified and had an impact both on the Russian IT market in general, and on a segment of cybersecurity solutions. Whether emergence of new laws and industry standards, increase in number of threats and also emergence of competitive domestic solutions to promote gradual increase in demand for cybersecurity in the long term will be able?

The situation in the market of ERP systems in Russia is far not the first year from iridescent, though disastrous will not call it. On the systems of this class not only primary, but also secondary demand is satisfied already. In many respects for this reason of TAdviser fixes almost total absence of growth of volume of this market in Russia according to the results of 2013 and 2014.

In a ruble equivalent, by estimates of TAdviser, the Russian market of ERP systems at the end of 2013 made up to 40 billion rubles. The forecast for the Russian market of ERP systems for 2014-2015 – moderately negative. Now projects on development of already implemented platforms are generally implemented, especially it concerns large and medium business.

But if since the fall 2014 Russian economy will be waited by more serious shocks, all similar projects will be postponed indefinitely, and for 2015 the companies will put the most modest IT budgets so recession will last not less than 18-24 months. At the end of 2014, depending on implementable macroeconomic scenarios, the market of ERP systems of Russia at best will reach the plateau level, and in the worst will lose up to 5-7% of the volume.
