At "The Irkutsk aircraft factory" the Russia's first project on transition to the latest version of the ERP system for large and medium-sized industrial enterprises with discrete type of production Infor ERP LN (Baan 6.1) is complete.

The GMCS company [1] (file) completed the project of migration of a corporate system of enterprise management from the version of Baan IV (industry solution of Aerospace & Defence) on Infor ERP LN (Baan 6.1) at the "Irkutsk aircraft factory" which is a part of the Russian producer of the aircraft equipment civil and military "Irkut scientific and production corporation.

According to developers, it is the Russia's first project of migration on the version of Infor ERP LN (Baan 6.1). The project was implemented in six months during which the existing settings and business procedures of logistics management and finance were transferred to the new version of the software product. At the moment a system is brought into commercial operation.

The Russian localization of the new version of the ERP system, including support of requirements for conducting accounting and tax accounting and implementation of the regulated reporting, was also executed by GMCS company and is complete in March, 2006.

According to the Chief information officer of Irkut corporation Nikolay Volkov, successful migration allowed to translate logically the project on development of the ERP system which for several years functioned at "The Irkutsk aircraft factory", in qualitatively new phase. Thanks to additional opportunities of the sixth version of a system, its advanced functionality and the improved user interface, the aircraft factory considerably improved own management system and brought closer it to requirements of actively developing enterprise.

In addition to support of the principles of MRP II, the new version of the ERP system includes the SSA Leanware block implementing the principles of "lean production".

Let's remind that the Baan system in recent years replaced several "owners". In 2001 a system was purchased by Invensys company. In a year this company was purchased by SSA Global, and still two years of the new owner later bought up Infor. Nevertheless, though during this time, restless for a system, its development practically stopped, but support was not interrupted therefore her clients could "remain faithful" to the used software.

Baan is popular in Russia among the large industrial enterprises including belonging to military industrial complex. In addition to GMCS, Lanit and Alfa-Intergartor companies are engaged in support of a system in our country.
