NetSuite and Amazon transferred ERP to "cloud"

NetSuite integrated the on-demand ERP-систему with Amazon Web Services (more specifically – service Simple Storage Service - S3). It was said by representatives of the company during the annual partner NetSuite conference in San Francisco.

The SuiteStorage service is intended for storage of those data which are not necessary in operational the mode and shall not be stored in the NetSuite system, the CEO of the company Nelson of Zaha (Zach Nelson) said.

According to him, the cost of an option is not high. Usually at NetSuite installation data are placed in the Oracle database. "The cost of such storage is far from budget. Therefore we speak to clients: if these data are not necessary to you constantly, store them on Amazon", - the top manager explained the idea.

Thus, the essence of SuiteStorage service consists that by means of specially developed interface data from the ERP system can be pumped over in data centers of Amazon. The partner of NetSuite Celigo company and directly divisions of developers of vendor was engaged in development of service. "For all those sceptics who claimed that SaaS is not flexible technologies and it it is difficult to configure, this real denial", - Nelson said. "Based on the platform it was succeeded to create micro vertical industry solution", - he added.

This news followed after the message about conclusion of an agreement with the Australian vendor of NetSuite by JCurve Solutions company which sells the branded, simplified version of a system for the companies numbering from 5 to 20 staff. According to analysts, the transaction means that NetSuite is going "have the finger on the pulse" the SMB market.

As for cooperation with Amazon.com, implementation of similar strategy will allow NetSuite to be beyond purely shrink-wrapped software product and to awaken interest in the solution of large-scale corporate users, experts say.
