Evgeny Nizhibitsky

Evgeny is an analyst of ANALYTICS PLUS company, the student of a last year of department of mathematical forecasting methods of faculty VMK Lomonosov Moscow State University. Areas of interests are BIG DATA the analysis, forecasting, processing of texts, computer vision, Bayesian methods. Being already a student of a third year, Evgeny achieved the first good results in the field of competitive data analysis. One of the last achievements are new results in the field of topic modeling which will be provided at the Lomonosov-2014 conference. In the past became the prize-winner on the final of the All-Russian Olympic Games on mathematics three times (silver medals in 2007, 2008 and 2009). In spite of the fact that serious scientific and professional activity require complete immersion, Evgeny manages to find time for hobbies for music and playing a piano.



Dmitry Pavlov

Dmitry graduated from mekhaniko-mathematical faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University and devoted the career to BI tools for information visualization. Dmitry quickly estimated as easily Tableau allows analysts to work with data. He experimented with this innovative technology much and continues the search, thinking out different methods of information display. Dmitry works as the analyst in ANALYTICS PLUS company and several years executes projects according to the analysis and data visualization for the companies which field of activity – telecommunications, banks, the largest online projects, retail. When Dmitry is not engaged in creation of brilliant visualization and customer training, he likes to play soccer, to appear on stage in KVN or to go to travel.

Program of a seminar

Within the first half of a seminar the short introduction to a statistical packet of R fixed by analysis of simple examples and tasks from data slicing pane will be provided, abilities to integrate R and the software solution Tableau available already now will be considered. We will tell about the main objectives of data analysis: classifications, clusterings, regressions, forecasting.

The second half of a seminar will be entirely concentrated on consideration of real business cases: determination of anomalies in data, segmentation of the customer base, forecasting of monthly sales. In each case application of opportunities of language R, integration with Tableau and visualization of results will be shown.

At the end of a seminar you will be able to set the gained knowledge on a one and a half hour Master class. We together will solve a problem of creation of the forecast of daily total income of supermarket for the month ahead on the basis of historical data. And also we will consider a question of more detailed forecast – for each buyer separately we will estimate the most probable day of the following visit and the size of the check.
