Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is product lifecycle, products. The set of processes, the detection of requirements of society for a certain product executed from the moment before utilization of a product after its use Prodrazumevatsya. The concept is applicable for any product of an information technology sphere and not only. At modern approach it is possible to select 11 stages ZhTs of a product.
The term "product lifecycle management" appeared as result of almost twenty years' evolution of the corresponding markets and technologies. For the middle of the beginning of the 1990th of a consensus concerning the fact that it is necessary to refer to category information on a product (especially in sense of engineering data) simply did not exist. Gradually these data began to be concretized as data on a product. At this particular time there was a term "product data management" (PDM). The last several years entered final clarity: the industry was created and constantly extends both on scope degree, and on the power of proposed solutions thanks to what, actually, and the term PLM was accepted.
Application of the concept of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management is technologies of management of the lifecycle (L) of a product) in the difficult multioperational production characteristic of the enterprises of mechanical engineering, "de facto" - a necessary condition of improving competitiveness of each enterprise, due to quality improvement of products and degree of satisfaction of the customer. This concept allows to trace each batch (and even each copy) products at all stages ZhTs – detection of requirement at the customer, considering his various requirements to a product, all production phases, shipments and operation and also utilization at the end of useful service life and archiving of all information.
