2020: Charge of racketing of bitcoins for 65 million rubles

At the end of October, 2020 the staff of central office of FSB of Sergey Belousov and Alexey Kolbov was accused of racketing of bitcoins for 65 million rubles.

According to the investigators, in 2018 they extorted money from the son of the former head of Izvestia publishing house Eraste Galumov of Alexander. Galumov Sr. is registered as the suspect on the case of especially large fraud because of plunder more than 150 million rubles at signing of the contract on lease of premises and providing them with the electric power now.

According to Kommersant, Belousova and Kolbova caught red-handed in the spring of 2019. Galumov's son then investigators the staff of Department of Internal Security of FSB took under control filed a petition for racketing to law enforcement agencies. Belousov and Kolbov, according to the investigators, demanded $1 million that made at that time about 65 million rubles. In exchange they promised to mitigate Galumova Sr. a measure of restraint, having released under house arrest and not to add new charges.

As reported the edition in military court, it is entrusted to consider to the experienced judge Vitaly Bakin famous one of the most high-profile criminal cases of the last years, in addition, for adjudgement to participants of the movement "Artpodgotovka" banned in the Russian Federation for crimes of terrorism. He already held preliminary meetings at which the issue of prolongation by the defendant of terms of detention and an order of conducting process was resolved.

In the publication of the edition it is said that Alexey Kolbov tried to mitigate the brought charge, claiming that tried to take control of money of family of Galumov, but alone. Then the speech could go about fraud, made out of group and without use of ex-officio full powers.

Arrest of investigators of FSB from "elite" department became first of all about corruption in the history of this division and struck a hard blow to reputation of FSB, Kommersant claims.^[1]
