Biography
Anatoly Yakovlevich Geller was born on October 18, 1978 in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, TASSR.
1999: Abduction by radical Islamists
In the summer of 1999, Anatoly Geller, who was then studying at the philological faculty of the Naberezhnochelninsky Pedagogical Institute, was captured in his own car by radical Islamists.[1], the guy was taken to the forest and on the same day in the back of KAMAZ, littered with boards, was transported to Mordovia. Anatoly was beaten, tied in a chain to a tree, kept in a pit, injected with psychotropic substances, "shot" with blank cartridges.
Two and a half weeks after the abduction, he was secretly transported to Chechnya. And on August 18, the kidnappers called Yakov Geller, Anatoly's father, demanding ransom. The anxious expectations of the Geller family lasted until September 7, when Anatoly was released from captivity with the assistance of the KGB of Tatarstan, the FSB of Ingushetia, the head of the Chechen community in Chelny, as well as thanks to the amount of 320 thousand dollars collected throughout the country. In Chechnya, the young man was in the basement with ITAR-TASS photojournalist Vladimir Yatsina for almost two months.
A year later, the kidnappers were detained. The organizer of the abduction, 26-year-old Sherali Shukurov, received 20 years in prison. The same amount was received by 27-year-old Maxim Gaponov. Sherali's younger brother, 24-year-old Ilkhom Shukurov, received 12 years in prison.
2000: Graduation from the Faculty of Philology of NGPI
In 2000, Anatoly graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Naberezhnochelninsky State Pedagogical Institute.
From 2000 to 2001, he worked as a software engineer at the central settlement and registration center of the housing management service, at the Production Operational Housing Administration in Naberezhnye Chelny.

From 2007 to 2009, Geller served as Deputy Head for Housing and Communal Services, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Zelenodolsk Municipal District.
In 2009-2010, he worked as the head of the state order department, managing affairs of the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Tatarstan.

2018: Deputy Head at Rostekhnadzor
In 2017, he took the post of assistant to the head of Rostekhnadzor, then headed the Department of Informatization of the Service.
By order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1849-r of September 5, 2018, Anatoly Geller was appointed deputy head of Rostekhnadzor. In this post, he oversees the issues of informatization and digitalization.

Prior to that, from 1991 to 2002 worked as the head of the Department for the Operation of Housing of the Gorgil Department in Naberezhnye Chelny.
