Receiving donations in bitcoins
At the end of July, 2019 the candidate for a prezidentyssh of Democratic party Andrew Young within the election campaign began to accept donations in bitcoins.
The special fund Humanity Forward Fund where investors began to transfer cryptocurrency was created. The politician expects a similar financial support as from legal entities, and physical.
The fund announced that receipts in bitcoins are adjusted using "the second layer" to Lightning Network blockchain network. Use of such "layer" means that the commissions on transaction processing appear less than if Young's supporters decided to transfer funds from the bank card traditional money.
The founder of Humanity FWD Seth Coen specifies that in this case the commission makes 1% whereas at operators of credit cards it reaches 4%.
Donors will be able to transfer all amount entirely instead of spending a part of funds for repayment of the commission of miners — the head of a payment service of OpenNode (through it acceptance of bitcoin for benefit of the candidate for president is adjusted) Afnan Rahman said. |
According to Coen, the fund did not solve yet whether bitcoins will be kept before the termination of the program or they will be immediately exchanged for Fiat. He noted that the change in price of bitcoin also requires eventually proper accounting of cost of each donation.
In 2017-2018 political donations in cryptocurrency in the USA made about $570 thousand.
Endr Young within the election program offered specific policy for cryptocurrencies. In particular, the politician intends to promote determination of the status of a token, powers of federal agencies, ensuring consumer protection in the field of cryptocurrencies, to development of clear tax policy and creation of a single regulatory system.[1]
Use 3D - holograms on pre-election meetings
In the middle of April, 2019 the U.S. presidential candidate from Democratic party Andrew Young announced that he is going to use the three-dimensional hologram for holding pre-election meetings in several cities at the same time.
One of the youngest candidates for candidates for president, Andrew Young is known as the politician showing interest in new technologies long ago. For example, summer of 2018 he announced that he accepts donations on the election campaign in cryptocurrency. This time during the television interview on TMZ Live Young showed video where its hologram dances near the hologram of the rapper Tupac Shakur.
Possibly, the support group of the politician will use the same technology which was applied by organizers of the Coachella festival in 2012, having shown Shakur. It is known that on Coachella the technology which in fact the hologram is not was used. It is a flat projection to almost transparent film capable to reflect bright light. The film stretches on the special construction set on the stage, from below it is highlighted by a powerful projector from which the video image arrives – this method was patented by Musion company, and the AV Concepts company licensed it for creation of "hologram" of Tupac.
According to these TMZ, Young almost did not receive negative comments from Tupac's fans. On the contrary, under its post on Twitter there was a set of positive reviews from young users who are its main audience.
Young is going to use the hologram for a performance on meetings in different states of the country. At the end of the performance Young is going to answer questions of audience on the air. It is supposed that this technique will help Young to save the considerable amount on traveling expenses and also will help to rally supporters and will attract interest of unfamiliar voters.[2]
