2025: Appointment as CEO of automaker AGR Holding
In November 2025, Andrei Karagin was appointed to the post of General Director of AGR Holding. The former head of the company, Alexey Kalitsev, moved on to work on the development of new projects, transferring the operational management of the company to the new director.
According to the press service of AGR Automative Group, Andrei Karagin has two higher educations - technical and economic - and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, which confirms his qualifications in the field of business management. His professional experience in the automotive industry exceeds 20 years. Prior to being appointed to a senior position in the holding, Karagin served as vice president for car production at AvtoVAZ. Since 2024, Karagin headed the Kaluga Automobile Plant "AGR Holding."
According to information published on the official AGR Automative Group portal, the main tasks of the new CEO include the development of production sites, increasing the level of localization of components and bringing the company among the leaders in the automotive industry in Russia to strengthen its technological independence.
According to the former head of the company Alexei Kalitsev, a deep understanding of production processes and management experience of Andrei Karagin correspond to the strategic goals of the company to strengthen industrial potential.
AGR Holding carries out the production and sale of cars, the supply of spare parts and service. The group includes automobile and motor plants in Kaluga and St. Petersburg, the Grabtsevo technopark, the Kamenka and Shushary industrial zones, as well as a warehouse of accessories and spare parts in Chekhov. The company operates under the brand "AGR Automative Group."[1]
