As of 2018, Andy MacDonald has experience more than 30 years in the European markets and the markets of developing countries and also wide experience of the management of multinational teams of specialists in the field of network and cloud computing.
Career
1992-2008
In 1992 Andy McDonald acted as one of founders of Internetwork Support Limited (ISL) company which over time the large European company in the field of network technologies. After sale of ThruPoint company to ISL company in 2001 he headed these organizations in EMEA region till 2008.
Andy McDonald started the career from different technical and managerial positions which he held in BT company in London and Paris.
2008-2018
Since 2008 Andy McDonald held several leading posts connected with emerging markets in Cisco Systems company in Dubai, the UAE. The position of the vice president for promotion of services in the countries of the Middle East, Africa and Russia was his last position. On this post he was responsible for creation and promotion of sales strategy for service providers of Cisco company in this region.
2018: Appointment of Citrix as the vice president in the region emerging markets
On January 30, 2018 the Citrix company announced Andy McDonald's appointment to a position of the regional vice president in the region emerging markets. He will be under supervision of Cherif Sherif Seddik, senior vice president and managing director of Citrix in EMEA region. Andy McDonald will be engaged in development of sales and Citrix services in emerging markets by increase in income, implementation of the active development strategy and maintenance of an ecosystem of partners of the company.
Citrix created the region emerging markets for optimization of service of customers and partners as they pass to complex cloud environments. This region includes the following high-growth countries: Russia and CIS countries; Eastern Europe (including Turkey, Israel and the countries of Southeast Europe); Middle East and North Africa; Central and Western Africa.
