2006-2007

Anton Afanasyev began his career in the advertising industry with the position of PR and Marketing Manager at Nexion Publishing. In 2006, he was a PR manager at Mediacrat Publishing House. In 2006-2007, he served as PR manager at Kassir.ru, where he then headed the PR and marketing department.

2008-2012

From 2008 to 2011, he was a co-owner of Rocket Mind. After that, he moved to the Initiative to the position of Digital Director. In 2012 he joined Unilever.

2020: Leaving the Russian representative office of Unilever

On November 3, 2020, Anton Afanasyev announced his departure from the Russian representative office of Unilever, in which he led the field of digital technologies and data management. He linked his dismissal to the need for career development, but refused to disclose further plans.

Friends, over the past 9 years, a pretty significant part of my career has happened - I was lucky enough to work for one of the best companies in the world - fmcg giant Unilever. I met wonderful and interesting people - experts in my business. We are talking not only about fellow employees, but also about a huge number of excellent people representing partner organizations - agencies, sellers, publishers, technology, retail. Together, we changed, developed our Russian digital market, setting new standards, making it more transparent and implementing the best communication platforms of brands for the benefit of an exciting and high-quality consumer experience. The press service of Unilever confirmed the departure of Anton Afanasyev and reported that the decision on the new head of digital technologies and data management by November 3, 2020 was not made.[1]
