2023: Appointment as CEO of Pirelli
For the first time in 11 years, the Russian subsidiary Pirelli was headed by a Russian citizen - at the end of June 2023, Anton Tereshin became the general director of Pirelli Tair Russia LLC. This is evidenced by the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL).
According to Interfax, Pirelli Tair Russia has been managed by foreigners since November 2011: then Andrea Pirondini took over as general director, in 2012 he was replaced by Costa Ardisson Carlo. In 2013, the post was taken by the Duke of Aosta and Savoy Aimone di Savoy Aosta.
In December 2022, in a New Year's address to members of the Italian Monarchical Union (Unione Monarchica Italiana), the duke announced that he was returning with his family to Italy after almost 30 years of life in Russia.
Before heading the Russian subsidiary Pirelli, he worked in this company as a CFO.
By July 2023, Pireli Tyr Russia LLC owns two production sites with a total staff of about 2,000 employees, which are located in Kirov and Voronezh. On them, the company produces tires under the Pirelli and Formula brands. According to the Pirelli website, the concern has 18 production sites in 12 countries, sells products in 160 countries.
In March 2022, Pirelli suspended investments in tire plants in Voronezh and Kirov, with the exception of investments necessary to ensure safety in the performance of operating activities. Russia accounted for 4% of the group's sales and 11% of the total capacity.
While some other tire manufacturers decided to leave the Russian market, Pirelli continued to produce and sell tires in the Russian Federation, and, as Marco Troncetti Provera, executive vice chairman and CEO of Pirelli, explained at a press conference, this is due to the fact that "the company has especially strong ties with the Russian market."[1]
