2022: Arrest in absentia
In July 2022, the Basmanny District Court authorized the arrest in absentia of Maidat Arsamakova, the widow of the ex-head of the Moscow Industrial Bank.
Her husband, Abubakar Arsamakov, led the bank for more than 20 years and led it to collapse, from which the Ministry of Bank was saved only by the reorganization of the Central Bank. A year after his resignation, the bankster died of the consequences of COVID-19, and his wife and son Arsamakov Adam Abubakarovich, who were also among the co-owners and leaders of the bank, were put on the international wanted list on charges of embezzlement of 198 billion rubles.
