2023: Appointment as CEO of Voentelecom
On July 13, 2023, it became known about the appointment of Alexander Artamonov as the new general director of Voentelecom. He replaced Alexander Yakunin, who has served in this position since 2018.
The fact that Artamonov headed Voentelecom is reported on the organization's website. Before his appointment, Artamonov worked in the Ministry of Defense and passed the military and civil civil service at the federal level.
He was engaged in the protection of information at the objects of informatization of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, and also developed and introduced programs for automation of processes in the field of public services in the central bodies of military administration, RBC reports with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Defense. The department added that on account of Artamonov participation in several development work to protect information, information technologies with the introduction of existing automation systems.
The ex-head of Voentelecom Yakunin was a defendant in a criminal case on extortion and fraud - he was accused of trying to seize JSC RS-Kit from Denis Zakharov, one of the suppliers of Russian Railways.
Voentelecom is a specialized service company of federal significance, ensures the interests of the state in the field of information security and telecommunications, as well as the development of domestic science and the industry of information technologies. The company also provides services in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense for the integrated equipping of communication facilities with modern equipment, maintenance and repair of IT infrastructure and military communications equipment, as well as operational and technical maintenance of communication lines and structures.[1]
