2020: Attempt to commit suicide

On March 11, 2020 the former analyst of investigation Chelsea Manning tried to commit suicide in the pre-trial detention center. Manning is hospitalized and is in a stable status.

Manning worked as the analyst of investigation in Iraq and was for the first time condemned in 2013 for leak of classified government and military documents in WikiLeaks. It gave to WikiLeaks about 700 thousand classified documents concerning the military operations of the USA in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lawyers Manning emphasize that she is not going to betray the principles even under the threat of the life and to health and will not participate in process on which it is subpoenaed as a witness. Now Manning doctors are engaged, nothing threatens her life.

The court made the decision to release Manning. He established that powers of jury expired therefore in emergence Manning before them is not present need. From custody she was decided to be released immediately, and the trial dates set for March 13 cancelled. At the same time the court upheld the penalties imposed on Manning in the amount of $256 thousand[1]
