Biography

Klein graduated from the University of Mannheim (Germany) in the direction of the international business management.

Earlier, being a chief operating officer and the head of Intelligent Enterprise Group, Klein combined the global duties including development and delivery of the main SAP applications with cross-industry activity, SAP connected with global business operations.

Intelligent Enterprise Group under the leadership of Klein was responsible for development of functions of a digital core of SAP, management of products, including a flagship product of SAP S/4HANA and SAP Digital Supply Chain and also managed a rich industry portfolio of SAP. Klein's team was also responsible for transformation of SAP in the intellectual enterprise in which the main attention is paid to simplification of business processes, global IT and cloud infrastructure, product quality and services, a portfolio and investment strategy, to intellectual data and analytics and also achievement of value due to implementation of digital innovations in the interests of both clients, and employees.

Klein started the career in SAP in 1999 still being a student.

He held different positions in divisions of Active Global Support, Operations Services and Global Controlling and also a post of the chief financial officer of SuccessFactors (2011-2012).

In 2014 he was appointed the general manager, and since April 1, 2016 - the chief operating officer.

On October 11, 2019 the SAP CIS company reported that board members of SAP Jennifer Morgan and Christian Klein become managing directors, changes become effective without delay, with the consent of the Supervisory council of SAP. Read more here.
