2023: Cryptocurrency fraud charge
On November 16, 2023, it became known that the Russian actor Pavel Derevyanko ("Unprincipled," "Salyut-7," "The Far Side of the Moon," "Hitler Kaput!," "Rzhevsky v. Napoleon") faces up to 10 years in prison in a fraud case. He is accused of fraud with cryptocurrencies, although Derevyanko himself claims that "he was fooled."
In 2022, Derevyanko and his close friend Grigory Muluzyan founded the Biy Soul cryptocurrency company with an office in Moscow City. At the same time, the partners received equal shares in the joint venture. According to Derevyanko, he transferred the money without reading into the contract, and after a while Muluzyan filed a lawsuit against him, demanding 45 million rubles allegedly for financial fraud.
According to RBC, several people have already filed statements with the police against Pavel Derevyanko, who invested in the Biya Soul crypto company, but could not return the funds. These are, in particular, entrepreneur Sergei Nikolenko (the amount of claims exceeds 1 million rubles), actor Artem Tkachenko (6 million rubles and 10 bitcoins), director Marius Weisberg ($100 thousand), Zhanna Yakushkina ($900 thousand) and others.
In this situation, Derevyanko himself sued former partners in the crypto business. The actor is sure that Muluzyan simply deceived him. Derevyanko's lawyer Alexander Aronov notes that his client is a victim in the initiated case. At the same time, the defender calls the accusations against the artist "untrue" that have appeared in the media.
I am harshly deceived by my former partners, friends, loved ones. For everyone and for my environment for a long time it was obvious. But, unfortunately, not for me. Now this is obvious to the investigation. Justice will be done very soon. Those responsible will be punished. They will not go anywhere, - says Derevyanko.[1] |
