2024: Arrest in the case of embezzlement of 100 million rubles

On October 14, 2024, the Main Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee announced that Valery Drogalin, former general director of the Pelengator Scientific and Production Complex, was sent under house arrest. He is a defendant in the case of embezzlement of more than 100 million rubles in the execution of the state defense order.

It is said that together with Drogalin, his subordinate Alexander Bogdanov, who was detained, is involved in the case. Both are accused of fraud on an especially large scale within the framework of the state defense order (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code) - they face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years.

The investigation established that in 2015-2017, Drogalin and Bogdanov, fulfilling a multimillion-dollar contract within the framework of the state defense order, stole over 100 million rubles by issuing forged documents on the implementation of the stages of work on the creation of weapons systems, which were distributed among themselves. The investigation of the criminal case is under control at the Main Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The military investigating bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation are investigating a criminal case against Valery Drogalin, former Director General of the Pelengator Scientific and Production Complex JSC, and his subordinate Alexander Bogdanov for committing fraud on an especially large scale, the official statement said.

According to RBC Companies, the Pelengator enterprise is located in St. Petersburg. In 2019-2021, it suffered losses: the company appointed a bankruptcy trustee Valery Makarov. The authorized capital of the organization is 10 thousand rubles. The main activity is declared the repair of machinery and equipment. In addition, the company can be engaged in the production of weapons, special forces equipment, etc.^[1]
