2019: The offer to separate Apple, Google, Amazon and Facebook

In the middle of March, 2019 senator and the U.S. presidential candidate from Democratic party Elisabeth Warren suggested to separate such technology companies as Apple, Facebook, Amazon and Google. The campaign of senator got support in social networks.

Warren suggests to enter new category of the companies — "platforms". These are the companies owners of virtual shops with turnover more than $25 billion Warren considers that it is necessary to break Apple, Facebook, Amazon and Google, having forced to separate them or to sell parts of the business and also to prohibit them to use the platforms for promotion of own goods.

According to senator, Google should refuse a priority in ranging by search of the services, Amazon should stop sales of goods from a line of Amazon Basics and select Whole Foods in separate business, and Facebook — to sell Instagram and WhatsApp.

Warren it is concerned by the power over information, and eventually and the power over economy which was purchased by technology giants. According to her, such companies suppress development of small IT-Business and the innovative technologies, and without separation of platforms the new generation of IT leading in the USA can never appear.

Facebook already showed a striking example of the power: the platform deleted advertisements of a presidential campaign Warren. After the risen perturbation advertizing was returned. Afterwards the official representative of Facebook said that the company deleted only four advertisements Warren because of abuse of regulations of use of a logo of Facebook.

Anyway, with approach of presidential elections of 2020 Internet giant will probably be exposed even more often to criticism from senators. Facebook, in particular, faces the growing attention from legislators on a number of questions, including its share in the market, distribution of misinformation on the platform and resale of user data.[1]
