In 2003, Sergey Galaganov graduated from Smolensk State Medical University with a degree in medical affairs, and underwent boarding school in surgery.
Career
2021: Appointment as Head of the Department of Health of the Bryansk Region
On August 18, 2012, Sergey Galaganov was appointed the new head of the Department of Health of the Bryansk Region. The corresponding order was signed by the governor of the region, Alexander Bogomaz.
Prior to this, the duties of the head of Bryansk Depzdrav were performed by Vitaly Mosin. Even earlier, the post of head of Bryansk medicine was held by Andrei Bardukov. In the spring of 2021, he was appointed deputy governor. Bardukov led the department since 2015.
Sergey Galaganov is known for successfully organizing, and then headed the first hospital in the Bryansk region for patients with coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, deployed on the basis of the regional hospital.

Before heading the Bryansk Depzdrav, Galaganov was deputy head physician of the Bryansk Regional Hospital No. 1 and head of the regional vascular center at the medical institution.
Sergey Galaganov was named the hero of 2020 by residents of the Bryansk region. Internet voting took place as part of a regional project on the regional government page on the VKontakte social network.
In May 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which the procedure for coordinating the heads of the Ministry of Health and departments of health should be under the control of the federal Ministry of Health. The dismissal of the heads of departments remained in the competence of the governors.[1]
