Education

Career

2021: Appointment as Head of the Health Department of the Bryansk Region

On August 18, 2012, Sergey Galaganov was appointed the new head of the Health Department of the Bryansk Region. The corresponding order was signed by the governor of the region, Alexander Bogomaz.

Prior to this, the duties of the head of the Bryansk Department of Health were performed by Vitaly Mosin. Even earlier, the post of head of Bryansk medicine was held by Andrei Bardukov. In the spring of 2021, he was appointed deputy governor. Bardukov led the department since 2015.

Sergei Galaganov is known for successfully organizing and then heading the first hospital in the Bryansk region for patients with coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, deployed on the basis of the regional hospital.

Before heading the Bryansk Department of Health, Galaganov was the deputy head physician of the Bryansk Regional Hospital No. 1 and the head of the regional vascular center at the medical institution.

Sergei Galaganov is named the hero of 2020 by the residents of the Bryansk region. Internet voting took place within the framework of a regional project on the page of the regional government on the social network Vkontakte"."

In May 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law according to which the procedure for coordinating the heads of the Ministry of Health and Department of Health should be under the control of the Federal Ministry of Health. The dismissal of heads of departments remained within the competence of the governors.^[1]
