2009

2015

In 2015, Alexander Gerko founded his own trading firm - XTX Markets. The company specializes in high-frequency trading based on algorithms, among its employees there are no ordinary traders. It seeks to automate as many processes as possible using statistical models that analyze trading data.

XTX Markets partners with institutional clients, counterparties and marketplaces around the world to provide liquidity in the stock, currency, fixed and commodity markets. It does not provide products or services to retail investors.

2022

Receiving $6 billion on trading algorithms

In December 2022, it became known that the fortune of 43-year-old Alexander Gerko reached $6 billion thanks to the British trading company XTX Markets, which he founded. This firm has an average trading volume of about $300 billion a day in shares, currencies, debt instruments and commodities.

Gerco owns a 75% stake in XTX Markets, Bloomberg reported. From 2020 to December 2022, more than £2 billion of XTX dividends were sent to a company registered in the Cayman Islands, controlled by Gerko, thanks to which the businessman's fortune amounted to $6 billion. In March 2022, the company paid a dividend of almost £1.3bn, more than three times the dividend paid a year earlier.

By December 2022, XTX Markets has offices in New York, Paris, Singapore, Mumbai and Yerevan.[1]

Britain's biggest taxpayer: $1.8m a day

Russian Alexander Gerko in 2022 topped the rating of the largest taxpayers in Britain.

Over the year, the 43-year-old entrepreneur paid £487 million ($602.8 million) in taxes in Britain, or £1.5 million ($1.8 million) a day, the newspaper writes. Thanks to this, he managed to move to second place the leader of the rating of the last three years - the founder of the international bookmaker Bet365 Denise Coates (£460.2 million, or $569.6 million) and her family.

2023: Britain's biggest taxpayer - £664.5m

At the end of January 2024, it became known that the native of Russia Alexander Gerko became the largest taxpayer in Britain at the end of 2023.
