XTX Markets is one of the largest algorithmic market makers in the world. The company was founded by Alexander Gerko - a mathematician from Russia, who has Russian citizenship and since 2016 - Great Britain, writes FT. For 2023, Gerko owns at least 75% of the company.
By December 2022, XTX Markets has offices in New York, Paris, Singapore, Mumbai and Yerevan.[1]

Lawsuit against Mazars for discrimination during the conflict in Ukraine
After the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, XTX Markets sued the British accounting firm Mazars, accusing it of discrimination and refusing to calculate its employees' salaries. According to the lawsuit, the defendant refused to work with XTX Markets due to the fact that the founder and owner of the company has Russian citizenship.
Donation of 1 million euros to Ukraine to avoid sanctions
To avoid sanctions, Alexander Gerko and the XTX Markets Foundation donated 1 million euros to create a new mathematical center in Ukraine.
