Azhar Giniyat was born on June 8, 1969 in the West Kazakhstan region.

Education

In 1992, Azhar Giniyat graduated from Aktobe State Medical Institute with a degree in pediatrics.

In 2007 she graduated from Aktau State University named after Sh. Esenov with a degree in state and local administration, and in 2015 - Almaty Management University, MBA with a degree in business administration.

Career

1993-2001

She began her career in 1993 as a district pediatrician of the city polyclinic No. 2 in Atyrau.

From 1994 to 1999, Azhar Giniyat worked as an infectious disease doctor, head of the department of the medical sanitary unit No. 1 of Aktau.

From 1999 to 2001, she was deputy chief physician for medical work at the Mangistau Infectious Diseases Hospital.

2001-2017

From 2001 to 2005 - Deputy Head of the Health Department of the Mangistau Region. From 2005 to 2006 - Director of the Health Department of Mangistau region.

From 2008 to 2017 - Head of Department, Director of the Department of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2017-2020

From September 2017 to 2020, she held the position of Deputy Head of the Medical Center for the Management of Presidential Affairs of Kazakhstan.

On June 26, 2020, she was appointed Vice Minister of Health of the country.

2022: Appointment as Minister of Health of Kazakhstan

On January 11, 2022, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on the new composition of the government. Azhar Giniyat has been appointed Minister of Health of the country. She replaced Zhandos Burkitbaev in this post, who from December 20, 2021 served as the head of the Ministry of Health.

Azhar Giniyat turned out to be the only woman in the renewed government of Kazakhstan. She is well known to residents of the republic for often speaking at briefings on the situation with the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.[1]
