June 17, 2024 it was announced the appointment of Nikolai Grachev as the new director of the National Medical Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology named after Dmitry Rogachev.
He replaced Galina Novichkova, who from November 2021 also became the main freelance pediatric specialist oncologist-hematologist of the Ministry of Health. Her contract expired on April 1, 2024, it was not renewed. According to the Medical Bulletin, Novichkova remains at the National Medical Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology named after Dmitry Rogachev as a supervisor.
Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko introduced the new head of the center to the team on June 17, 2024. According to the head of the Ministry of Health, during Grachev's work in the center, it was possible to develop "fundamentally new directions in pediatric head and neck surgery." In addition, Grachev helped form interdisciplinary departments of head and neck surgery not only at the National Medical Research Center named after Rogachev, but also in other medical centers in Russia, this improved the provision of assistance to small patients with relevant diseases, Murashko added.
He also noted that Grachev is "a man of the collective, he is" saturated "with the spirit of the ideology of saving children, can support and develop what was created in previous years."[1]
