Gerasim Surenovich Gadiyan was born on August 3, 1958 in Baku.
Education
In 1982 graduated from faculty of aeromechanics and the flying equipment (FALT) of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) in "Dynamics of flight and management". From 1982 to 1991 S. Gadiyan worked at the Central Aero hydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI). Defended the dissertation for a degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences. A thesis – "Research and development of methodology of optimization of video complexes of different function".
Biography
1989
In 1989 created production cooperative of AYR which main objective was creation of cable (fiber optic) video information networks.
2007
In 2007 Gerasim Gadiyan was elected the president of Association of the high definition television and a digital cinema of HD Union. Then the association began active work on promotion of the high definition television and a digital cinema in Russia and abroad, participating in domestic and foreign projects, such as organization and holding of conferences on a HDTV (during the exhibition "HDTV Russia", CSTB, Svyazyekspokomm, etc.).
Since 2007 for the first time in Russia there began broadcasting HDTV channels of HD Media network. Gadiyan became the CEO of the holding of the same name.
2015
In 2015 Gerasim Gadiyan created OTT/IPTV the ViNTERA.TV platform which offers users for viewing more than 200 TV-channels.
2020: Death from COVID-19 coronavirus
On November 9, 2020 it became known of Gerasim Gadiyan's death. The CEO of ViNTERA.TV, the head of HD Media media holding and the president of HD Union association died from complications, caused by a koronavirusny (COVID-19) infection, ViNTERA.TV reports.
The company noted that for a contribution to TV and radio broadcasting Gadiyan was mentioned by thanks of the Minister of Press, TV and radio broadcasting and means of mass communications and the head of Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications.[1]
