2017: Arrest

On August 24, 2017 it became known of arrest of the former head of labor union ZTE Corporation of He Xuemei. Charges of waste of public means are brought to the top manager of manufacturing company of telecommunication equipment and mobile devices.

As reported by Reuters, National prosecutor's office of the city of Shenzhen (the Province of Guangdong, the Southern China) issued the warrant for the arrest of 47-year He of Xuemei and three other persons suspected of assignment of trade-union money. About what amount there is a speech and how defendants disposed of money not to destination, it is not specified. ZTE refused to provide comments at the request of the edition.

The top manager of ZTE was arrested for waste of means

He Xuemei began to work in ZTE in 1998. From February, 2004 to September of the 2015th it was included into ZTE supervising committee along with four other members. In September, 2014 He was appointed the director and the general manager of 100 percent "daughter" of ZTE — ZTE Yihe Investment and Development Limited. The Chinese mass media reported leaving of He labor union in June, 2017.

In the report on corporate  management of ZTE it is said that the supervising committee into which He of Xuemei entered is created for control of financial and normative work of the top management, "to protect legitimate rights and the interests of the company and shareholders". Most likely, He abused official position.

Reuters pays attention that He of Xuemei is rather famous person on the Chinese social networks. In the Weibo microblogging service (the Chinese analog of Twitter) it has about 300 thousand subscribers. It repeatedly gave an interview to the press concerning the charitable work as the former secretary general of ZTE Foundation fund.^[1]
