Theft of $1 million by the assistant administrator

On August 24, 2015 it became known that the former assistant to one of top managers of HP was sentenced to imprisonment for plunder of money from accounts of the American company. It became clear that the swindler spent the stolen money for expensive rest.

According to the edition The San Diego Union Tribune, Halle Holli Dawn Coulman which from 2000 to 2012 worked as the assistant to one of the senior vice presidents of HP, secretly paid personal expenses at the expense of the employer.

So, 2006 it charged from corporate credit cards HP about $100 thousand for payment of accommodation in the Californian SPA hotel La Costa Resort & Spa. Approximately for $43 thousand Coleman spent in The Lodge and Casa Palmero hotels. Besides, it used $33 thousand corporate money for purchase of equipment for driving the motorcycle. Several thousands of dollars were spent for flights to Europe and to Hawaii and also on acquisition of the equipment in Apple Store shops and purchases in expensive multibrand shops Neiman Marcus and Nordstom. Over $350 thousand more were transferred into accounts of the brother of the swindler for development of its business.

All this money (it is about a total sum in $954 thousand) were received in the fraudulent way. 45-year-old Coleman, having access to corporate HP credit cards, for approval of transactions by the higher administrator got access to its e-mail, and on behalf of the management confirmed transactions to herself.

After Halle Dawn Coleman left HP, she got new job from where she was quickly dismissed in connection with investigation about fraud.

Halle Dawn Coleman admitted the guilt, but it did not save it from a prison term in 21 months. Besides, it should compensate to HP damage in the amount of $3 thousand monthly.[1]
