2025: Completion in xAI

In August 2025, Igor Babushkin, the founder of the xAI AI company, announced the completion of its work, as well as plans to launch its own investment fund Babuschkin Ventures to support research on the safety of artificial intelligence. A Russian development engineer has left a position at the company he helped set up in 2023 and intends to focus on investing in AI and agent systems startups.

Igor Babushkin wrote in X that his last working day at xAI came at the time of the announcement of his departure. An engineer with Russian roots emphasized that he helped found the company together Elon Musk with in 2023 and took an active part in its development.

Elon Musk expressed gratitude to Igor Babushkin for his contribution to the development of xAI. An entrepreneur with a fortune of $418.7 billion, according to Forbes Real-Time, wrote in X that the company would not have achieved current results without the participation of a Russian engineer. Musk thanked Babushkin for helping build the xAI.

Babuschkin Ventures, a new investment fund, will specialize in supporting artificial intelligence security research. Igor Babushkin plans to invest in startups that develop AI and agent systems that contribute to the development of humanity and reveal the secrets of the universe.

Igor Babushkin's educational path includes studies at the Technical University of Dortmund, where he graduated. Before joining Elon Musk's team, the Russian specialist worked as a research engineer at the leading technology companies OpenAI and Google DeepMind, where he accumulated expertise in the development of artificial intelligence.^[1]
