2020: Recovery of 1.4 billion rubles for bribes

According to information released on October 21, 2020, in Vladivostok, the Sovetsky District Court recovered 1.452 billion rubles of corruption income from the former mayor of the city Igor Pushkarev, his co-defendants and six enterprises controlled by him from the federal budget.

Earlier, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow found Pushkarev guilty of abuse of office and receiving a bribe and sentenced him to 15 years in prison. He was also fined 500 million rubles with deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the exercise of the functions of a representative of power, the performance of organizational and administrative functions in state bodies and local self-government bodies for a period of 10 years.

In addition, the court recovered 143 million rubles from Pushkarev in favor of the Vladivostok Roads Municipal Unitary Enterprise in the framework of a civil lawsuit against the enterprise.

According to investigators, from 2009 to 2015 Pushkarev prevented everyone except the necessary company from participating in municipal tenders for road construction. For this he received bribes. He received 50 million rubles from his brother through an intermediary Lushnikov. Vostokcement also paid for the protection of the head of the city and various works carried out in his houses in Primorye and the Moscow region.[1]
